Denver Supercross 2026 Results: Hunter Lawrence Wins as Roczen Leads Title by 1 Point

Round 16 of the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship delivered exactly what the title fight needed — drama, intensity, and a last-lap shake-up — as Hunter Lawrence claimed a crucial victory at Empower Field at Mile High.

With championship leader Ken Roczen finishing second, the gap at the top has now shrunk to just one single point, setting up a winner-takes-all finale in Salt Lake City.

Lawrence Delivers Under Pressure

From the moment the gate dropped in the 450SX Main Event, the intensity was clear. Jorge Prado grabbed the early lead, but Lawrence wasted no time asserting himself, making a decisive move within the opening laps to take control of the race.

Once out front, the Australian delivered one of his most composed rides of the season. Navigating the technical Denver circuit and high-altitude conditions, Lawrence steadily built a gap and never looked back.

Behind him, Roczen charged through the field after a mid-pack start, executing aggressive passes on Cooper Webb and Prado before settling into second place.

Despite Roczen’s efforts, Lawrence’s pace proved untouchable, crossing the line with a dominant advantage to keep his championship hopes alive.

Tomac Returns to the Podium Fight

A major storyline coming into Denver was the return of Eli Tomac, and the hometown hero did not disappoint.

After briefly losing ground early in the race, Tomac regrouped and mounted an impressive charge through the field, eventually securing third place after a hard-fought battle with Prado.

His performance added another layer of complexity to the race, influencing the fight for podium positions and potentially impacting the championship outcome.

Late-Race Chaos Behind the Leaders

While the battle at the front stabilised, the closing stages delivered chaos behind the podium positions.

A fierce fight between Webb, Justin Cooper, and Dylan Ferrandis ended dramatically when Cooper and Ferrandis collided in the sand section, both going down.

Moments later, Webb also crashed while chasing Prado, reshuffling the final order and allowing Malcolm Stewart and Chase Sexton to move into the top five.

Championship Decider Set for Salt Lake City

The result has completely transformed the championship picture. Roczen, who previously held a small buffer, now leads Lawrence by just one point heading into the final round.

With everything on the line, the finale in Salt Lake City will effectively become a winner-takes-all showdown between the two title contenders.

For Roczen, consistency has been key throughout the season, but Lawrence’s late surge in form has brought him right back into contention at the perfect moment.

250SX West: Deegan Dominance Continues

In the 250SX West Main Event, newly crowned champion Haiden Deegan once again proved why he has been the standout rider of the season.

Deegan grabbed the holeshot and immediately pulled away from the field, controlling the race from start to finish in dominant fashion.

Behind him, Levi Kitchen secured second after a prolonged battle with Lux Turner, while Ryder DiFrancesco completed the podium.
