The 2026 TrialGB Championship got underway at On Point Moto Keypitts Farm, delivering a challenging and technical opening day that immediately tested the UK’s top trials riders. With tight sections, changing grip levels, and demanding terrain, consistency proved crucial, and it was George Hemingway who came out on top.

After a full day of intense competition, Hemingway put in a controlled and calculated ride to finish on just 13 marks, giving him the overnight lead heading into day two.

Hemingway Brothers Set the Pace

It was a standout performance from the Hemingway brothers, with George leading the way and Harry Hemingway close behind on 17 marks. The pair showed impressive control across the sections, clearly adapting best to the tricky Keypitts terrain.

Jack Peace, one of the championship favourites, remains firmly in contention after finishing third on 21 marks. With such small margins at the top, the fight for victory is still wide open heading into day two.

Midfield Battle Tightens

Behind the top three, the battle for the remaining top five positions was closely fought. Harry Turner and Billy Green were separated by just a single mark, finishing fourth and fifth respectively.

Meanwhile, Jack Dance secured sixth place with a steady ride, while the rest of the field struggled to keep penalties down as the sections took their toll.

What It Means for Day Two

With only a four-mark gap between first and third, day two is perfectly poised for a dramatic showdown. George Hemingway may hold the advantage, but there is little room for error — especially with both Harry Hemingway and Jack Peace capable of closing the gap quickly.

Track conditions could play a major role. As sections become more worn and rutted, grip levels may change, potentially shaking up the leaderboard. Riders will need to balance aggression with precision if they want to challenge for the overall win.

Further down the order, expect a strong push from riders like Billy Green and Jack Dance, who are within striking distance of the podium if the leaders make mistakes.

All to Play for at Keypitts

Day one has set the tone for what promises to be an exciting opening round of the TrialGB Championship. With tight scoring, unpredictable conditions, and multiple riders in contention, the overall result is far from decided.

As the riders return for day two at Keypitts Farm, all eyes will be on whether George Hemingway can hold his nerve, or if the chasing pack can turn the tables and claim victory.
