Hixpania Campoo Extreme 2026 results, Bolt Wins Back to Back
Billy Bolt has backed up his SuperEncierro victory with another win at the 2026 Hixpania Hard Enduro, beating Manuel Lettenbichler by just 3.5 seconds in Saturday's Campoo Extreme. Ashton Brightmore completed the podium after an intense one-hour race, setting up an intriguing battle ahead of Sunday's main event.
The Husqvarna rider completed eight laps in 1 hour, 14 minutes and 21.8 seconds, narrowly holding off newly crowned world champion Lettenbichler. The German finished second, while Brightmore took third, just 9.7 seconds behind Bolt.
For Bolt, this is a particularly encouraging result after an injury-disrupted season that saw him miss the Sea to Sky round. Having already won Friday night's SuperEncierro final, he has now demonstrated his speed in two very different racing formats at Hixpania.
Bolt and Lettenbichler separated by seconds
Although Bolt took the victory, Lettenbichler had the fastest lap of the race, recording an impressive 8:59.38 on his final circuit. Bolt's quickest lap was 9:01.01, suggesting the pair were closely matched throughout the contest.
The crucial difference was consistency across the full race. Bolt's final lap of 9:01.01 was his fastest of the eight, allowing him to finish strongly and protect his narrow advantage over the KTM rider.
Lettenbichler also finished with his fastest lap, but ultimately ran out of time to catch the British rider. With only 3.5 seconds separating them at the finish, the result underlines how competitive the leading riders remain even with the world championship already decided.
Our take: This was arguably an important confidence boost for Bolt. Winning the short-format SuperEncierro showed he still has the explosive speed to beat the best, but coming through a longer race with eight consistent laps is another positive sign. His pace across both events suggests he is determined to finish the season strongly.
Ashton Brightmore keeps the pressure on
Ashton Brightmore delivered another strong performance to secure third place in 1:14:31.6. He finished less than 10 seconds behind Bolt, keeping himself within touching distance of the top two throughout the final standings.
James Moore was fourth in 1:16:20.4, ahead of Teodor Kabakchiev in fifth. Mitch Brightmore finished sixth, more than six minutes behind the winner.
Mitch's lap chart shows a significant delay on lap six, when he recorded 14:53.68 compared with times generally around the nine-and-a-half-minute mark on his other laps. The official results do not identify the cause, but the lost time clearly affected his overall result.
Mario Román finished seventh, followed by Wade Young in eighth. Francesc Moret Clota took ninth, while Britain's Toby Shaw rounded out the top 10. Lorenzo Gandola finished 11th.
What does Campoo Extreme mean for Sunday's main race?
Sunday's Lost Road main race presents a very different challenge to the Campoo Extreme sprint. Riders will face a demanding multi-lap course around the Caracol peninsula, with the opening stages designed to progressively reduce the field before the leading riders battle towards the finish.
The main race is expected to include a cave start, with the last 10 riders eliminated at the end of each of the first three laps. The top 10 remaining on the lead lap can then tackle Hixpania Hill during the closing stages, where the final fight for the win takes place.
Bolt's results so far make him one of the riders to watch. His SuperEncierro victory showed his ability to make quick decisions in tight, technical racing, while the Campoo Extreme win proves he can maintain a strong pace over a longer race.
However, Lettenbichler's second place should not be overlooked. The KTM rider was only a few seconds away from victory and recorded the fastest lap of the race. That combination of consistency and outright pace could make him a serious contender again on Sunday.
Brightmore also has reason for confidence after finishing third. He was close enough to the leaders to suggest he could play a part in the main-race battle if he can maintain that pace over the more demanding terrain.
The world championship title has already been secured by Lettenbichler, so Sunday's race is about the overall Hixpania result and finishing the season on a high. For Bolt, another victory would be a major statement after a difficult campaign. For Lettenbichler, it is an opportunity to respond after missing out on the Campoo Extreme win.
With Bolt winning both of the first two Caballeros races, the momentum is currently with the British rider. But with the toughest challenge still to come, Campoo Extreme may only be the beginning of the battle at Hixpania.
